Hello Friends!
The date is set for my 2020 culinary trip to Italy! I am inviting anyone that would like to join me to come with! I know many of you said you wanted to join me next year. A dreamy week of the best food ever (no exaggeration!), daily Italian cooking lessons (learning how to make more dishes that you can count… including of course, fresh pasta, wood fired pizzas, gelato, more amazing desserts and so much more!), a day of hunting truffles that includes a “truffle everything” lunch to follow (it was seriously my dream come true meal!) and daily tours to beautiful towns throughout Tuscany (this year will include Lucca, San Gimignano, Siena, possibly another town or two and Parma (the town famous for parmigiano reggiano cheese and proscuitto! We will visit places where they are made and be treated to an amazing, authentic “Parma” meal!)… the beauty and charm of these towns will blow you away!)! Yes, it really is as amazing as it sounds.. that is why I am returning for another year!
The name of the cooking school is Toscana Saporita and the classes are taught by Sandra Lotti (a James Beard award winning chef who is super fun, funny, endearing and the amazing instructor and owner of the school,) in the town of Massaccuoli, Italy. You can find reviews of the school on Trip Advisor. I am not one to repeat trips, but I have had such a phenomenal time each year and want to explore more places in Tuscany… so I am returning again for the fourth time! The experience is that amazing!
In case your wondering…. the school is for beginners to skilled cooks. Or even for those that just want to feast on amazing, authentic Italian food and explore Tuscany at its best with a local to show us things that we wouldn’t experience on our own.
Here is the low down so far. I am booked to go the week of September 12th – 19th.We are able to add an additional day next year! With Italy being 8 hours ahead, I will be flying to Florence (I won’t book my flights until a little closer to the date, but will let you know my flights in case you want to be on the same flights), a couple of days beforehand, spend a day and a half in Florence (first, because I adore Florence and second, its less expensive to fly to Florence than directly to Pisa.. win win!), stay a couple of nights in Florence and take a short train ride to Pisa Saturday evening where we will be picked up (arranged by Toscana Saporita) and taken to their school. The cost for the week is $3190.00 (you will need to send a non refundable deposit ASAP of 600.00 to reserve your spot), which includes all transfers to and from Pisa (either the train station or airport), accommodations on their estate (double occupancy, there is an additional fee if you want single occupancy), cooking classes, all your meals and daily tours exploring Tuscany, including the day of truffle hunting and eating! For those of you that drink… all wine is also included with your dinners. Male and female, single or couples are all welcome. I am hoping my hubby can join me again this year! And I am looking forward to an amazing time with you! We have such a great time as a group all week! The spots go quickly and there is a limit to how many she will accept for the week. Let me know ASAP if you’re interested… I hope you can join me for this fabulous trip… we’ll have the time of our lives!

Happy Cooking!

Breakfast Class 2019
Cabo San Lucas Vacation Home
I’ve received a lot of requests to share the information for the amazing home we stayed in for our family vacation in Cabo San Lucas… so here you go! We had our whole family minus one son who is serving a mission for our church (10 people plus two littles) stay in the home. This was definitely the way to go.. for many reasons! First off… we had the pools and private beach all to ourselves and the large home to gather in. Lots of time together… heavenly! If we stayed in a hotel… we would’ve been sharing the hotel pool with a lot of people … then separating to our individual rooms.
The home is located in the Pedregal which is a private, elite community in Cabo San Lucas. The bustling town is right outside of the security gate. The home also comes with an amazing chef (Her dishes were so good that we hardly ate out. Her food was better than the restaurants!) We were able to request what we’d like to eat for our meals as well as our daily snacks (homemade tortilla chips, salsa and guacamole were out daily requests!). And we also had a maid that cleaned the home and replaced our towels (pool and bath) daily. The perfect set up and so comfortable!
I forgot to take pictures of the interior of the home (sorry!) but it was wonderful! Four of the five bedrooms opened up to the backyard and pools and all five had their own full bathrooms. The washer and dryer were available for our daily use, (that came in so handy… especially with the two little ones… and we went home with our suitcases packed with clean clothes!) and the bathrooms were stocked with full sized shampoo, conditioner, body wash and blowdryers.
The home has lots of beautiful and comfortable gathering areas. Below are some pictures of the areas we enjoyed most… the pools and the beach (which was a short two minute or less walk from the home via a private path from the home).
Here is the beautiful courtyard as you enter the property.
Here is the back of the home. Lots of outdoor deck space!
Two pools and one jacuzzi. Yes… we used both!
The ultimate R&R! I also did my laps here every morning for my daily workout.
The entrance to the private beach.
We really did have the beach to ourselves. Most homes here are vacation homes and not many were occupied. We spent a lot of time here too. Daily beach time and sunset walks.
If you’re interested in this home, please email me at jennyleeevans@gmail.com and I will give you the contact information. I can’t wait to return!
Peruvian rice
Every single time I serve this rice, everyone… and I mean everyone goes crazy over it! I am excited for you all to make this easy recipe and try it for yourself. It goes well with most meals… you gotta love a versatile, amazing recipe like this. I no longer make Mexican rice when I’m serving a Mexican feast… I serve this Peruvian rice instead. The best part is this look like plain, run of the mill, regular white rice.. nothing special at all. But once I tell my guests that this is no regular, plain rice… that its amazing… they all dig in and that’s when I get the comments from every single person at my table. I should call this “love at first bite rice”. You can find the recipe HERE. Enjoy my friends!
